A Focus on Social Policy: Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute and Silberman School of Social Work.
Roosevelt House, an integral part of Hunter College since 1943, re-opened in 2010 as a public policy institute honoring the distinguished legacy of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. The legacy of the Roosevelts has influenced social welfare policy and social work practice since the 1930s. Roosevelt House fosters creative dialogue by educating students in public policy and human rights, supporting faculty research and presenting high-profile public lectures, seminars and conferences – all of great relevance to the social work community.
