We encourage many applicants to take a non-matriculated course to enhance their knowledge of social work. Taking a non-matriculated course will give you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the demands of our graduate program and build a foundation in social work.  There are usually three courses available to non-matriculated students: Social Policy, Human Behavior I, and Human Behavior II.

Non-matriculated students are permitted to register for one course each semester for a maximum of three courses. A maximum of nine credits may be credited toward the MSW degree if a student applies and is accepted into the matriculated program.

To apply, click here and submit application the Hunter College Graduate Admissions Office, Room 203, North Building, 695 Park Avenue, New York, NY 10065, Telephone (212) 396-6049. The Hunter College Graduate Admissions Office will send you notification of acceptance and orientation information. We look forward to helping you start your education in social work!

Because seating is limited in the non-matriculated courses, we encourage applicants to complete the application as soon as possible. Your registration application must be accompanied by a copy of a diploma or transcript showing conferral of a bachelor’s degree. In the event of a foreign degree, applicants must provide an evaluation showing the equivalence of a bachelor’s degree.  If you have questions about applying, please contact Mr. Angulo at (212) 396-7627.
